We are big believers in getting kids out walking in the countryside from as young as possible! The routes in this collection are designed for the very youngest members of the family and will only take around half an hour to complete and are all on easy, flat terrain.
There is plenty for little ones to do on this short route through the forest including a giant marble run and two play areas. A café and toilets at the end make it all the better for families.
A very short walk through this park passes a play area, a wild-wood play area, a scooter track and a café.
Boardwalks take you over the mire and through woodland before looping around the lake. At the end is a brilliant play area with water play and a seasonal paddling pool.
A more peaceful option that allows you to get your little one close to nature. This easy walk around a wetland nature reserve includes viewing platforms so children can try their hands at wildlife watching.
Children will love the adventure play with equipment suitable for all ages. There’s also a cafe and picnic area to enjoy before setting out on well-marked trails around the wooded heath.
On one side of the road you can explore the woodland and ponds of Holly Hill Woodland Park and on the other side, there is a brilliant play area and a milkshake/ice-cream van.
Stroll through woodland around the lakes, enjoying the viewing platforms and then stop for a play at the park.
At this little country park, you can walk in one direction around the lakes to the play area and then catch the miniature steam train back!
A really short and easy coastal walk where children can stop at the café and watch the boats come through the lock into in the marina from their own little hut.
Follow the footprints around the lake to find the dinosaur island play area. Along the way you will also see a cafe and a paddling beach.
There is lots for kids to do at Staunton with a play area, tea room, lookout tower, follies, sculptures and a quick walk around the lake with ornate bridges and an island.
The boardwalks of Thursley Common are the ideal way for little ones to get out across the heath on easy-going, mud free terrain.
It doesn’t take long to walk around the three ponds at Waggoners Wells, but there are still plenty of opportunities for some wild play, climbing trees and splashing in streams.
Start from the pond and then follow the well marked trail around the heath, with wildlife themed brass rubbings for children to collect.
There are lots of trails through the woodland at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, but use our guide for one that is short and flat and starts beside the woodland play area, toilets and snack kiosk.
