The sandy heath is home to one of Hampshire’s best play areas
If you have never spent an afternoon at this amazing park in Bordon, then you really should. It has to have one of the very best play areas in Hampshire as well as easy sandy trails to explore through woodland and heathland. A café, toilets and a free car park top this off as a brilliant family day out.
The Route
There are three marked trails to follow and there are maps available on boards or as paper copies on site. The yellow Gilbert White Trail will take about 22 minutes, the blue Reme Trail will take 25 minutes and the red Legion Trail will take about 35 minutes. All three trails cover virtually the same terrain and are easy to follow using the coloured posts.
All the routes will start and finish at the natural play area where the café and toilets are also located.
Most of these routes are also brilliant for off road biking - avoid the sandiest ones though.
There are sculptures to look out for around the park.
During the winter, little ponds appear around the park which are great for splashing about in.
Did you know?
Hogmoor was formally an off-road tracked vehicle training area for the army, which has now been transformed into a large recreational space as part of the Whitehill and Bordon regeneration project.
