Easy walks for the whole family
Hampshire Surrey West Sussex
Blackbushe Airport
Children can watch the planes coming an going from the viewing areas at Blackbushe airport and then embark on a walk or cycle around the disused runways adjacent to Yateley Common.
Farnham Heath
Enjoy the beauty of Farnham Heath with views across the Weald whilst following the Heathland Artworks trail.
Watership Down
“Come and look, you can see the whole world up here”, say the rabbits as they arrive at Watership Down. You can follow in their footsteps and look out for locations from Douglas Adams’ famous novel on this walk in the North Wessex Downs National Landscape.
St. Helens Duver
Our first Isle of Wight walk to feature on the website, this walk is perfect for those dreaming of sandy bays, cool rockpools and seaside cafes. It leaves from St. Helens Duver, which is easily accessed by bus from the Hovercraft terminal in Ryde.
Levin Down
There are some gorgeous villages in this part of the South Downs and this walk links two of them, Singleton and Charlton. Both have great pubs and Singleton has a brilliant play area. The two villages are overlooked by Levin Down, a hillside covered in natural grassland.
Itchen Navigation
This linear route explores the section of the Itchen way between Allbrook and Bishopstoke. The water is in view to your side throughout the whole walk and it is easy to spot wildlife in the clear water. The recreation ground in Bishopstoke provided a sensible turning back point, after a play at the little park.
Every Ambling Path walk has a stand out feature that children will love including magnificent play areas, shallow rivers for paddling, epic country parks and ancient ruins to explore.
Covering two national parks and two national landscapes, our detailed guides have all the information you need to get the whole family out walking right away.
