Wootton Bridge

Wootton Bridge car park is situated beside a wide, shallow section of Avon Water where children can play in the river and picnic on the banks. Our suggested walk then loops you through the woodland of Wootton Coppice Inclosure and Brownhill Inclosure where you will almost certainly spot ponies grazing in the shade of the trees.

Burton Mill Pond

Burton Mill Pond is a peaceful gem just south of Petworth. The historic pond has a series of viewing platforms and is twinned with Chingford Pond, which you will also pass on this walk. Varied woodland paths and reedbeds connect the two nature rich bodies of water.

Broomy Inclosure

This walk encompasses everything we love about the New Forest; an epic family pub, tracks suitable for walkers and cyclists, huge ancient oaks and magical conifer plantations, free-roaming ponies, heather clad open plains and bridges over gentle streams.

Bedham

When we arrived on a misty autumn morning, it was easy to see why some people consider these woods to be enchanted. The sight of an abandoned church hidden in the trees was definitely an eerie sight, but as the sun broke through the mist we discovered miles of quiet woodland that is perfect for peaceful family walks.

Our Collections

What’s new?

  • This walk at Dunsfold has undergone some changes to make it one continuous loop from the village centre. It is a long one, but includes so much from a brilliant play area to a pub by the village green.

  • Our Norbury Park page has had an overhaul with two routes to now choose from, a wild garlic route or a bluebell route and both stop at woodland cafe, Wild! About Coffee, where kids can toast marshmallows.

  • It was a welcome relief to go back to Wildhams Wood in West Sussex and see that the woodland had recovered from recent forestry work. The bluebells and wild garlic are blooming.

  • If you are going to Crab Wood, near Winchester, to see the bluebells you can follow our circular walk and use new details about how to find a farm shop cafe nearby.

  • What was once a linear walk at Breamore, has now become an absolute show stopper of a walk with bluebells, cafe, historic home, museum and miz-maze. This walk really shows the best of the English countryside.

  • I have updated our bluebell walk at Stoke Park Wood, Bishopstoke, and it now includes a family friendly pub and an extra bluebell wood!
