Easy walks for the whole family
Hampshire Surrey West Sussex
Hawkley
Hawkley is an attractive South Downs village with a pretty village green, church, recreation ground and pub. Our short and easy family walk takes in just one small section of the Hangers Way, but it is a particularly special one, with banks of wild garlic in spring and rolling countryside views.
West Meon
What a joy this walk was on a sunny spring day! The paths were lined with a multitude of spring flowers and the woodland carpeted with bluebells. West Meon itself is an attractive village with a traditional stores and well-loved pub. To complete the excursion, children will be excited by the new climbing towers and slides in the recreation ground, from where the walk starts.
Meon Springs
From the top of the South Downs near Old Winchester Hill, the water of Whitewool Pond glistens in the valley below. Follow the path down to the farm and find a cosy rustic café, fishery, yurts and shepherds huts.
Stroud & Lythe Hanger
Starting from a popular pub on the outskirts of Petersfield, this walk climbs through farmland to a ridge, where there are views to Butser Hill. The countryside is blissfully peaceful and you will enjoy a sprinkling of bluebells on the descent.
Petersfield Heath & Pond
The jewel in the crown of the ancient market town of Petersfield, the Heath and The Pond have long been popular with families looking for an easy stroll with plenty to keep the children entertained.
Every Ambling Path walk has a stand out feature that children will love including magnificent play areas, shallow rivers for paddling, epic country parks and ancient ruins to explore.
