Easy walks for the whole family
Hampshire Surrey West Sussex
Hawkley
Hawkley is an attractive South Downs village with a pretty village green, church, recreation ground and pub. Our short and easy family walk takes in just one small section of the Hangers Way, but it is a particularly special one, with banks of wild garlic in spring and rolling countryside views.
Selborne & Oakhanger Stream
Just within the boundary of The South Downs National Park, Selborne is an attractive village with 267 acres of countryside looked after The National Trust. This walk follows the Short and Long Lythe, passes three ponds and returns through woodland.
Ashford Hangers
Ashford Hangers comprises 323 acres of wooded hillside, much of it beech trees. The views from the top are well worth the climb and this is also one of the best places to find wild garlic in Hampshire.
Rogate Common & Durleighmarsh
At the heart of this easy walk near Petersfield is the pick-your-own farm where strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries are ripe for the picking in summer and pumpkins in autumn. As well as this you can enjoy refreshments from The Tea Barn.
Liss Riverside Walk
For this walk, we gave the legs a rest and took our bikes and scooters as the old railway line beside the River Rother is flat and even making is suitable for wheels as well as feet.
Every Ambling Path walk has a stand out feature that children will love including magnificent play areas, shallow rivers for paddling, epic country parks and ancient ruins to explore.
Covering two national parks and two national landscapes, our detailed guides have all the information you need to get the whole family out walking right away.
